All these celebrities are also supporters of Creative Community for Peace, a pro-Israeli organisation that seeks to undermine the BDS campaign. It bills itself as ENTERTAINMENT’S ANSWER TO THE BDS MOVEMENT. It describes itself thus “CCFP is an apolitical organization that strives to provide balance to the discourse regarding the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and encourage entertainers to travel to the region to experience it for themselves.” In reality, CCFP whitewashes Israeli apartheid, by promoting Israel and refusing to condemn its racist nature.
David Miller writes “Islamophobia is endemic amongst Zionists. It’s not just Lee Kern, Sacha Baron Cohen, David Baddiel but also many of their cohorts and collaborators. I wrote about a little known Zionist youth group called Habonim Dror, that incubated and continues to incubate racism by radicalising Jewish youth. The actress Dame Maureen Lipman signed the October Declaration (of Oct 2023) to condemn the Hamas attacks on Israel along with a wide array of figures, including playwright Sir Tom Stoppard, lyricist Sir Tim Rice, former foreign secretary Lord Owen, TV presenters Vanessa Feltz and Rachel Riley, historians Tom Holland and Lord Roberts, and evolutionary scientist Richard Dawkins. They demand the BBC start calling Hamas “Terrorists” and attack any that stand for Palestine. Also signed by former MI6 head Sir Richard Dearlove; director of Labour Against Antisemitism Emma Picken; actor Steven Berkoff, headteacher Katharine Birbalsingh; former ministers Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg and Lord Pickles; feminist campaigner Julie Bindel; Tom Holland and comedy writer Graham Linehan.
